EC3 Donates to Animal Houses to Local Charity

Erie County Community College's (EC3) new Construction Trades Program is donating 12 animal shelters for both dogs and cats.

Over 13 students participating in last fall's cohort of students used extra resources to meet the needs of the Anna Shelter. These insulated houses will help to keep the animals warm during the cold winter months.

"This project allowed our students to put their new skills to work, "said Ken Getschow, the Program Coordinator and Instructor of Construction Trades. "It is always nice when classroom activities can meet and fulfill community needs as well. This project was fulfilling for many reasons, and we know they'll be put to good use."

"We are so excited to have these amazing shelters built by the students at Erie Community College," said Founder and Director of the Anna's Shelter, Ruth Thompson. The dogs and cats are going to love them, and we love working with other great organizations in the community!"

EC3's construction trades program is now enrolling students for its spring session.
