Erie County Community College to Honor Founding Members at Special Dedication Ceremony

 

Erie, PA  – Erie County Community College (EC3) is proud to honor the individuals who played an instrumental role in the founding of the college at a special dedication ceremony. The event recognized members of Erie County Government, the State Board of Education, and EC3's founding board for their unwavering commitment and vision in bringing the community college to life.

The dedication ceremony, took place today, October 2nd at 4 PM on the EC3 Erie West campus. The Founders Room will serve as a tribute to the perseverance and collaboration of these key stakeholders. Their efforts ensured that Erie County secured a community college, which now serves as an essential educational resource for the region.

"We are beyond grateful to every individual who worked tirelessly to make Erie County Community College a reality," said Dr. Chris Gray, President of EC3. "It is our honor to recognize those who saw the vision, never gave up, and made it happen. Their legacy will live on through the lives of countless students who will benefit from the opportunities EC3 provides."

As part of the celebration, EC3 will unveil "The Founders Room," located on the Erie West campus, where photographs and plaques will commemorate each individual's contributions to the establishment of the college. This permanent display will serve as a reminder of the dedication and advocacy that laid the foundation for EC3's mission of accessible education and workforce development.
